Ils sont de Brighton, du plus pur style anglais, ils jouent comme si leur vie en dépendait. Ils ont un style entre GANG OF FOUR, BLOCKPARTY et THE RAPTURE. Ce maxi est une bonne entrée en matière mais il faut les voir sur scène c’est exceptionnel.


They come from Brighton, a typical English style, they play as if their life depended on it. They have a style between GANG OF FOUR, BLOCKPARTY and THE RAPTURE. This ep is a good introduction but they should be seen on scene it is exceptional!

Elbow - The Seldom Seen Kid (2008)

J’écoute le nouvel album du groupe depuis ce matin, à mon bureau.

C’est une atmosphère à la TALK-TALK ou PINK FLOYD avec un petit battement industriel.
Garvey, le chanteur est très bon, voix cool. Bon, en grande partie, c’est excellent, ils parviennent à bien propulser les mélodies vers le haut parfois même grandiose et aussi un peu éthéré mais, c’est très très mélancolique. C’est quelque chose à la fois terreux et très humain.
Ils sont moins commerciaux que COLDPLAY, KEANE ou SNOWPATROL mais il y a un goùt dont on ne se lasse pas, une petite perle que l’on veux garder pour soit !
Enfin, un groupe qui chante la solitude d’un conducteur de grue ne peux pas être fondamentalement mauvais.

I have listened to the new album of the band for this morning, at my office. It is an atmosphere with the TALK-TALK or PINK FLOYD with a small industrial beat. Garvey, the singer is very good, cool voice. So, mainly, it is excellent, they arrive to well propelling the melodies to the top sometimes even imposing and also a little aerial but, it is very very melancholic. It is something at the same time earthy and very human. They are less commercial than COLDPLAY, KEANE or SNOWPATROL but there is a taste which one does not weary oneself, a small pearl which one want to keep for himself! Lastly, a band which sings the loneliness of a driver of crane do not can be basically bad.

Alcest

Ah! Alcest "Souvenirs dun autre monde", je dois dire que j'ai flashé sur la pochette de cet album et ce titre un peu hippie, un peu bande dessinée. Et à l'écoute c'est la sensation étrange et envoutante de rentrer dans un autre univers!

Alcest c'est un projet solo d'un artiste issu du black métal, agé d'une vingtaine d'année.

Attention, c'est un black atmosphérique, très étrange. Je trouve son travail vraiment original, il mérite d'être soutenu.

Ah! Alcest "Souvenirs dun autre monde", "Memories from another world", I have to say that I was impressed by the sleeve of this album and this title a bit hippie, a bit of comics strip.

And with listening it is the strange feeling and bewitching to search of another univers!

Alcest is a solo project of an artist coming from the black metal, he is about 20 years old. Attention, it is an atmospheric black, very strange. I find his work really original.

The Amber Light

Après des semaines de vacances au ski, de grippe et de courses à rattrapper le temps perdu "qui ne se rattrappe jamais plus "antisocial Trust"", je me relance pour tenir à jour ce petit blog.

Alors pour commencer, j'ai trouvé ce groupe, je crois allemand, The Amber Light dans Goodbye To Dusk Farewell To Down et je le dis, c'est très très beau.

C'est du rock progressif style Pink Floyd, ELP, Marillion. C'est très inventif et frais.

Mélangeant beaucoup de différents éléments, ces types créent une atmosphére artistique avec des mélodies rêveuses et d'étranges bruits.

Ce disque me rappelle simplement l'impression que j'ai eu en découvrant Sigur Rós et Radiohead
avec Kid A.

In first, I found this group, I believe from Germany, The Amber Light in Goodbye To Dusk Farewell To Down and I have to say it is very, very beautiful. It is progressive in style of Pink Floyd, ELP, Marillion. They is very inventive and fresh. Mixing many various elements, these guys create an artistic atmosphére with dreaming melodies and strange noises. This disc points out simply the impression to me that I had by discovering Sigur Rós and Radiohead with Kid A. If you like it, buy it
